Principal's Message

9/13/17

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Debbie Sims and it is my pleasure to be the principal of Provident Heights Elementary.  This is my 5th year at Provident Heights and 36th year with Waco ISD.

The campus is excited to celebrate receiving the Accountability Rating of ”Met Standard” for the third year in a row.  The new school year is off to a great start and we look forward to another successful year.  We have about 400 students from Pre-K to 5th grade.

The campus goals are focused on increasing the rigor of lessons and utilizing higher level questions in all content areas. Students will be journaling each day in the core content subjects.  In weekly Professional Learning Communities, teachers are striving to improve the design and delivery of instruction for our students.  We believe in the slogan of "Hard Work Pays Off" for staff and students.

The campus is setting expectations and building positive behavior with the components of Conscious Discipline and PBIS.  Our staff has developed procedures for all the common areas throughout the campus.  The focus is to be safe, responsible, and respectful for all procedures.  You will see new flags hanging in the hallways and cafeteria reflecting this focus.

We have many Parent Involvement activities planned this year.  An effective collaboration of school, parents, and community increases the success of students.  We look forward to an effective collaboration and your support this year.

We are delighted to have you and your child as part of our Provident Heights’ family. You can contact me at 254-750-3930.

Sincerely,

Debbie Sims
